Contaminated Site Remediation

Aaffinity personnel have been involved in numerous contaminated site remediations ranging from Home Heating Spills to large Industrial Projects. Clients have included Imperial Oil Limited, Irving Oil Limited, PWGSC and Nova Scotia Power Corporation, etc. A list of the contaminants that Aaffinity has experience in remediation include:

• Petroleum hydrocarbons including, benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene, xylene, gasoline, fuel oil, Bunker C, diesel oil, Jet fuels, lubricating oil, and aviation gasoline.
• Pesticides including, DDT and its metabolites DDD and DDE, Lindane, Bravo, Guthion, Endosulfan, Metribuzin, Methoxychlor, Atrazine, Dinoseb and Cyanazine.
• Phenolics including creosols, phenol and pentachlorophenol.

Petroleum Storage Tank Cleaning

Aaffinity has experience cleaning all types of aboveground storage tanks (AST's) and underground storage tanks (UST's), vessels, towers, furnaces, pits and piping. Product contained within these tanks has included: jet fuel; diesel; furnace oil; premium gas; crude oil; bunker C; cat frac bottoms; propane; butane; ballast; caustic; cadmium; paint stripper; and mixtures of the above.

Our personnel have used a variety of cleaning and recovery methods such as vacuuming, mechanical removal, chemical cleaning, pressure washing, sandblasting, squeegeeing and/or tank removal for a number of clients. We have operated on all scales of tank cleaning from 1000 gallon above ground storage tanks to the cleaning of over twenty (20) large diameter (up to 250-foot) petroleum storage tanks at refineries located throughout Atlantic Canada.
